Over ons
hi, we are Sander (32) and Wikke (30) from Utrecht, the Netherlands.
We will use this very basic Dutch-English website to update you about our adventures.
Over onze reis
Our journey takes us from the Cape of Good Hope, South Africa, back to our home in the Netherlands. We expect to be away for about 7 months, and hope our Toyota 4x4 brings us without problems all 25k kms over the Eastern African continent into Jordan, Syria and through Turkey back into Europe.
Our car is a Toyota Hilux 2.4, built in 1992. It is fully equiped to travel conveniently through Africa; 2 x 90 liter water reservoirs and a filter provide us with fresh drinking water and the possibility to have a shower in the huge shower area outside the car in the bush. Extra fuel tanks (in total 180 liters) give the long range for remote areas. Inside there is a large and decent bed, a small kitchen and a toilet. We hope to find our way home by following the position of the sun, moon and stars.
